Overview

Dr. Katherine Moynihan is a board-certified orthodontist dedicated to delivering personalized, high-quality orthodontic care. She specializes in traditional braces, ceramic aesthetic braces, and Invisalign® clear aligners, helping patients of all ages achieve confident, healthy smiles.

Education & Clinical Training

Dr. Moynihan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University. She continued at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. During her time there, she served as President of the Student Professionalism & Ethics Association in Dentistry and was honored with the Dr. Joseph P. Speranza Memorial Award for her commitment to exceptional patient care and support of her peers.

She completed her postdoctoral orthodontic training at Boston University, where she served as President of her residency class. Dr. Moynihan earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics along with a Master of Science in Dentistry, focusing her thesis on maxillofacial anatomy in pediatric patients with sleep apnea.

Experience & Professional Practice

Since 2021, Dr. Moynihan has been practicing orthodontics in Fall River, Massachusetts. She provides care in multiple locations, including Marion and her family’s practice on Nantucket, ensuring accessible and consistent treatment for her patients.

Dr. Moynihan is certified by the American Board of Orthodontists, reflecting her commitment to the highest standards in orthodontic care. She is also an active member of:

Dr. Moynihan is deeply committed to giving back. She serves on the board of Project Stretch, a nonprofit organization providing preventative and restorative dental care to underserved children in Sinaloa, Mexico. Through this work, she helps expand access to essential dental services in communities in need.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Moynihan enjoys painting, cooking, staying active through fitness, and skiing. She values creativity and balance, which she brings into both her personal life and patient care.
